Is it just me or was this week the longest short week ever! Anyone else felt this way? Believe it or not, today marks the 53rd day into 2019! Hopefully, by now many of us have settled and have become one with our goals and are implementing them into our daily lives.

So one of the goals I set this year is to practice financial freedom. That means getting out of debt, building my credit, investing my coins and SAVING! Although this will be something incorporated in my lifestyles for years to come its essential for me to look at how I can implement even the smallest daily habits to achieve my ultimate goals. Everyone wants to live like Jay-Z and Beyonce but what we do every day determines how we will get there.

One of the things that I'm cutting back on is how I shop for clothes. As a media journalist, sometimes its so easy to spend hundreds of dollars on clothing every month whether it be for work, speaking engagements or events. I know some people may think we always have stylists and clothes just at our disposal but let me be the first to say this is not regularly the case. The truth is sometimes we are expected to look the part, and that may require us to buy things on the fly which can be very stressful to the wallet.

I refuse to shop in 2019 impulsively, so that means recreating looks within my wardrobe, partnering with brands, being intentional about my purchasing power, and always look for great deals. Now, I’m not saying a girl can't treat herself every now an again, but there will be milestones attained and funds set aside before cards are swiped! Period
